LUMS VC summoned by Governor Punjab?

Irritated over the student protests especially by LUMS students it's the buzz that Governor Punjab has summoned V.C. of LUMS over the matter. It is still unconfirmed news, can anyone confirm it?

Personally, I would say hats off to LUMS administration and faculty for resisting government's pressure and allowing students their right to gather and record their protest. I hope it continues the same way.

We the students of LUMS really enjoy the freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom to gather and organise in LUMS. Freedom to do so is one of the values that LUMS was built upon. A state-of-Emergency or Martial Law denies all this. naturally the students have risen to the occassion to protest against it, as they know what a blessing it really is!

hmmmmmm generally a reporting person doesn't has to disclose his resources..........but if you insist, a journalist.

It is good that LUMS, in general, doesnt bow to external, especially political pressure, and not just in the case of current protests. It helps maintain a neutral and fair academic environment. If you ever bow to political or external pressure once, for any reason, you'll be bowing forever. I hope that doesnt happen.

i think that Dr. Zahoor's news has more chances for being authnetic.

True that LUMS is owned by NMF, the National Management Foundation, whose chairman is Syed Babar Ali, but operations are run autonomously by Vice Chancellor.

If Govt. has to come down hard on some one, poor V.C. is the obvious choice.

I agree with Saqib, i hope things in LUMS remain the way they are now.

Dont worry about Dr. Zahoor, he knows how to handle these issues...
Just dont turn to student activism when it comes to the football field, all other forms of freedom of speech would be granted...
